Qaisar Sheikh - Legal Director at Winckworth Sherwood
Qaisar is a leading education solicitor with considerable experience in education, public and discrimination law, having worked in these areas for well over a decade. He has acted in several notable cases that have brought about further judicial guidance and legal precedence. In 2023, Qaisar won the prestigious Law Society Legal Hero award for his far-reaching work securing education, health and social care support for young people with additional needs.听
Prior to this, he won the widely respected Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year award in 2022 in the Public Law category. Qaisar has also been nationally ranked in Chambers and Partners since 2020. Before joining Winckworth Sherwood, he served as Head of Education Law at Coram, leading a large team focused on addressing a broad range of legal issues faced by children and young people.
Alice de Coverley - Barrister with 3PB
Alice de Coverley is specialist education, equality, and public law barrister, regularly acting for children and young people, vulnerable adults, families, schools, and public bodies. Alice has significant experience in cases involving SEND and mental health, alongside judicial review, and discrimination.听
She is the co-author of 鈥�A Practical Guide to the Law of School Exclusions鈥� and is due to be published in Tolley鈥檚 Charities Manual, with a new chapter on the Equality Act 2010. She was The Times Lawyer of the Week in July 2023. She is Trustee of the charity Neurodiversity in Law,听and she received the Legal 500 ESG 2024 award for "Disability/Neurodiversity: Bar Champion of the Year鈥�.
