Laura Henry-Allain MBE is an award-winning international storyteller, educationalist producer and consultant.

She is the creator of the well-loved, award-winning first Black British Animation, JoJo and Gran Gran global series, developed and produced by CBeebies, where she is also the series producer. Laura was awarded an MBE in the 2021 New Year Honours for services to education.

Laura is proudly dyslexic and, through her work and travels, shares her personal dyslexia journey from childhood to the present day, speaking openly about both the highs and the lows. Her favourite quote, by basketball coach John Wooden, is: 鈥淒on鈥檛 let what you can鈥檛 do interfere with what you can do.鈥�

She has worked with a wide range of global brands and organisations including Paramount, Mattel, Moonbug, John Lewis, Comic Relief and BAFTA.

Laura is a board member of the Children鈥檚 Media Foundation and vice president of The British Association of Early Childhood Education. She is also a supporter of the Grenfell Memorial Quilt, an Ambassador for The National Year of Reading, the creator and presenter of the podcast My Words, My Book and the writer of the 鈥楶ick Up A Book鈥�, song.听
